Draft 3 and a thought on color scheme

I still don't like the colors, but I had a thought ... what about a rainbow scheme? I could put 'boxes' around each section like I did around the "Events" section on the page. Each would be a different color from red to violet. I could add a "links" section on the right so there would be four on the right, and the top of the menu on the left can be another color. We could do RED, YELLOW, GREEN, BLUE, and VIOLET. Any thoughts?

Okay, I'm going ahead and posting Draft Two.

Some changes I made ...

(1) Reduced the size of the text

(2) Added the Menu bar ... the links will go to other pages of OUR site ... the links that are in there now are not for our use ...

(3) I left the marquee but changed its placement and appearance a little. Everybody, please give your opinion on whether it should stay or go or stay but be modified/moved.

We need to put some thought into what we REALLY want on the first page. Some of what is currently there may need to be moved to other pages so that the majority of the content will show on a monitor set at a typical resolution.

Draft One of Web page

Ok, Tony signed us up for our REAL URL for the website, but until we have SOMETHING that we are all agreed upon, I have posted Draft One of the main web page at a TEMPORARY location. The page is AT THE TEMPORARY LOCATION HERE: http://tartan.edinboro.edu/~erichardson/vcpj20050508.html

Please take a look at it.

A few notes ...

(1) I included on the page what we discussed in the meeting and nothing more. We did not come to definite decisions on the wording for all of the headings so that is a matter we can discuss here.

(2) You will notice I placed a "dummy" banner that just says BANNER at the top of the page. Obviously, the REAL banner will go there when it has been created.

(3) I will try to make the left navigation bar 'float' (i.e. stay on the screen in the same place as you scroll up or down the screen). I need to look up the code for this.

(4) We did not say anything about the colors of the page during our meeting, so that will have to be decided.

(5) The page will look different on different computer monitors, and may not display properly in all browsers. When you post or email me comments about the look of the page, the following information would really help me:

• the browser you are using (e.g. Internet Explorer, Firefox)
• the screen resolution (e.g. 1024X768)
